Milambo Kabeleka is a Zambian entrepreneur who has significantly impacted her country's digital marketing and e-commerce industry. She is the founder and CEO of MK Kreate Interiors, a digital marketing start-up that specializes in digital brand marketing for local businesses. Launched in 2017, MK Kreate Interiors has since become a leading provider of digital marketing solutions in Tanzania.
Milambo has achieved several milestones in her entrepreneurial journey. In 2017, she was selected as a finalist for the State Department's Academy for Women Entrepreneur program. She was chosen from hundreds of applicants for her innovative business ideas, leadership skills, and growth potential. As a result, Milambo received a US$10K grant that helped her expand her business, creating a digital marketplace for farm produce.
These funds enabled MK Kreate Interiors to expand the business by supporting the purchase of additional equipment including laptops and essential software and adding to their team. They successfully set up a Digital Farm produce marketplace, creating a platform for small and micro-business to sell fruits and vegetables online, conduct transactions, and keep track of their sales. They also provided digital marketing services to help small agricultural enterprises build their online presence and sales, enabling them to compete with more established brands.
With this platform, vendors can easily reach new customers and expand their business beyond their local communities. By the end of the project, MK Kreate Interiors saw a 133 percent increase in their client base. The online platform and digital marketing services greatly improved the growth potential of their clients. One such client, Rovert Foods, a fresh food delivery business based in Lusaka, increased weekly door-to-door deliveries and revenue by over 100%. The digital produce marketplace project has proved to be a game-changer for small businesses in the agriculture industry.
